Christmas

With Christmas and the New Year almost upon us I better wrap with a blog. Footie cancelled at the weekend makes me smile considering I was watching a champions league game in Germany on Tuesday as they were punting the old 'orange' coloured ball around like they used to do in UK when we had snow. It also makes me smile as I remembered the 'bench' seats at Real Madrids ground Santiago Bernabeau. These seats are the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in AND they are heated! I know we think footballers are soft but stop thinking and know it! Undersoil heating and they still can't clear a pitch to have a game when non league teams around the country aren't getting paid to play and turn up on a Sunday freezing and 'stand' waiting for a substitution. I went to see my local team San Roque lose 2 - 1 at home to Cadiz on Sunday and the Spanish lower leagues are just like ours, full of petulance, fierce tackles and diving. But the wind was blowing, then the rain lashed for 20 mins before the second half was blessed with sunshine. Now thats what I call football. Here's hoping for a better chance of seeing a game in 2011, here's an idea buy some snow clearing machinery.
