3 to go!

Well what a weekend of footie. Still more to come starting with the Real Barca return on Tuesday night. An ideal place to start with my local landlord infuriated by Mourinho's spoutings, not sporting not good making excuses all the usual stuff we hear as Mou always splits opinion. Sergio Ramos is still tweeting like a good 'un and there is no doubt the players like him a lot and it is obvious the pressure just isn't as bad as it was under previous managers on the players at least. He takes the heat and all of it, let's hope they come up with the goods. Of course if Barca continue winning in the style Mou talked about, diving, cheating and asking for red cards they seem to be able to miraculously get every semi final I won't be surprised on the result but I'm hoping for a Real turn around. As far as the EPL is concerned thank you Arsenal for a good result yesterday it neatly puts us (Chels) in line for a pop at the title after we were well and truly written off. I think  Rooney was unlucky on his yellow BUT I think the ref should have come out at full time and said he didn't get a yellow till he started mouthing off and the same to all the others. Yet again Vidic gets away with a blatant penalty offence I've lost count on him and other Man U defenders this season who get away with it. It is a problem throughout the EPL teams including Chelsea ffs look at John Terry he went through a spate of being a second goalkeeper at one time. Speaking of Chelsea I feel very sorry for Harry and the Spurs team but for once we had the luck, deffo the first goal should not have stood although I understand the lino giving it from his vantage point. I agree with the pundits however he couldn't in all honesty be sure so he should have not given it. My only disgreement with punditry this weekend was the call for goal line technology. they seem to have dumbed down their request in the hope that FIFA accede to a lesser request. In other words no more calling for a 4th official with a TV reply now, its only for goal line tech. Sorry BUT we should be asking for it all, bells and whistles the games stops and starts so much now with all the diving who cares if the 4th official takes 10 seconds to review a play. For me the 4th official should be there to  adjudicate on offsides, penalties and any offence the ref deems bookable. Not only that once this is done the yellow card should be binned. You get referees now pointing out the number of offences before a player gets booked???? Either it is bookable or not... not accumulated offences. So get rid of the yellow it serves no purpose and look to TV replays for any cheating offence as a straight red, end of. The game needs cleaning up. Finally I love the current waffle I've mentioned before about intention. Real's Pepe intended to foul Alves and just cos he pulled out or missed still deserves a card??? How do you know it wasn't just that he tackled like Paul Scholes for once and was a complete and utter idiot? You cannot prove intent until the act is done, seriously. I actually heard John Motson the other day announcing that a penalty was deserved when given because even though the player didn't touch the player who went down (dived) he intended too therefore it was a justifiable penalty. Incredible!
